There was a gigantic fire across the street today, with smoke and ash and trees burning down and that crackling noise that's kinda comforting. I saw it from my office. It was like a parade; maybe twelve firetrucks and four ambulances rushed down the street (the lab is tucked away in a deserted corner of UCF with its own dirt road). There was a bunch of soot on my car when I left. On the bright side, since all those trees are gone, now we have more parking!
