Dreams in the Dark
Dean woke to hear Sammy tossing and turning, making small whimpering sounds in his sleep.
Things had been hard on Sam lately.
Dean suspected he had the same dream repeatedly.
Sam always said he didn’t remember.
Dean crossed to his brother’s bed, sat on the edge, his hands on Sammy’s shoulders and shook him awake, “Wake up Sam.”
Sam awoke in a cold sweat, frightened, but felt his big brother’s hands on his shoulders, “Dean…?”
“It’s okay Sammy. I’ve got you.”
Dean climbed in to share the bunk.
With Dean at his back, Sam wasn’t afraid of the dark anymore.
