Death By Garbanzo Bean?
I almost had to get a new secretary today, thank goodness she is okay, but she almost died from a
Garbanzo Bean.
My secretary went home for lunch and was eating a salad with some Garbanzo Beans on it when she said one rolled down to the back of her throat and got lodged there. She couldn't make it come up or get it to go down.
Luckily today was the first day of summer vacation and she made it into her 13 year old son's room and gave the sign of choking and his friend told him, "Give her the Heimlich Maneuver."
The 13 year old thank goodness had paid attention when his dad showed him how to do that. It took 4 tries but he was able to dislodge the Garbanzo Bean that almost killed his mom.
OMG, she came back from lunch and was shaking and the first thing she said was,
"I was almost killed by a Garbanzo Bean."
Poor thing, if I was a nice boss I'd have let her take the rest of the afternoon off.
I am so glad that had a happy ending. Could you imagine having a Garbanzo Bean do you in?
