I'm not going to make excuses this time, or hide under a rock anymore. Life's busy as hell, I'm pretty involved (read:lurking) on a couple of Sims2 forums, and I have a wife who is WONDERFUL and nieces/nephew who like to see me every once in a while. But I miss you guys, like I'd miss a vital organ if it was gone.
So here I am.
How's life treating you? Anything happen while I was...away? What's up with you? (you=EVERYONE)
Tell me everything. Please?
On the subject of being married:
Mir and I are discussing immigration possibilities. If all goes well--*crosses fingers and knocks on wood*--we will be living together by this time next year. Figuring out all the hoops we have to jump through to get there is going to be the harder part--my god this is complicated.
Also, being married ROCKS MY SOCKS. And Mir is the most beautiful woman in the world.
On the subject of having cats and bunnies:
At the moment, Fred and Doyle are unhappy with me.
We have a new addition in the family: my brother & sis-in-law's eleven years old, nearly thirty pound cat, Frodo (or Fredon, as he's French, the "little"(HAHA!) bogger). He's old, he's becoming a pain in the ass because he's old, and with four children (ages 20months to nine years old) and two over-excited dogs, Sébas and Josée just didn't have the patience for him. Plus, Frodo hates dogs--not surprising, since they keep thinking he's a dog too and trying to dog-play with him (biting, shoving, all playful dog stuff).
Absolutely crushed at the idea that they were going to just leave him at the SPCA, after eleven years as part of the family, I stupidly said I'd take him in, on a trial basis. Right. Trial basis my ass. Mir agreed to let me do it, despite the "no-new-pets-until-we-live-together" rule. Frodo's huge and old, but he's a sweetheart. The laziest, most laid back cat I have ever met, to be honest. (also the biggest, I should post pictures, one of these days--with Fred next to him for comparison purposes)
He's taken to the new digs with little to no reaction. "What? Okay. Whatever." Like I said: laid back. Fred only hisses at him anymore when he purposefully tries to get petted when she's around. Doyle, on the other hand, is NOT a happy boy. They had a fight last night, while I was sleeping. It woke me up, but no one was hurt. Despite the fact that Frodo's declawed on his front paws, and Doyle isn't, I'd put my money on Frodo. The sheer, massive size of him alone... Well, enough of that.
The bunnies, on the other hand, couldn't care less about there being an extra cat. Two was already too many for them, but they deal well enough. Plus, they're cute.
On the subject of being an aunt:
- Guigui is now 20 months old, and while he doesn't speak, he is the cutest little guy in the UNIVERSE. The smile, the hugs, the happiness he exudes are just amazing things.
- Sassa (4) has a bad case of strabism in one eye, because of a very bad case of not being able to see in the other. So now she has glasses. I lack words to express the level of CUTE. Plus, she's still the weirdest weirdo in weird land. *luffs*
- Léonie (6) just finished her first year of school (kindergarten) with good grades and a note from her teacher saying she was a real trooper, a great helper, and an all around great kid. \o/ That's my girl. Her speech impediment is getting better, slowly, and she is absolutely enjoying the summer reading program at the local library, which I enrolled all three girls into.
- Mimi (9) is growing up much too fast. She is losing her baby features (*sobs*!) and turning into a complete pre-adolescent. Uh oh! She enjoys the reading program, and the pre-teen gaming night--also at the library. She even has a sort-of-a-boyfriend, although we can't tell Lolo, because he's the boy next door, and he used to be Lolo's boyfriend. Oh dear.
Since mommy and daddy are very very busy, and I'm a library addict, aunty Sophie takes care of all library related enrollment, loan, and shuffling back and forth. \o/ WOO HOO! I love being an aunty. I love having the opportunity of passing on a love of libraries to my nieces (and the nephew, who also has his own library card and borrows one or two board books every week :D ). Bonus: Léonie now wants to be a librarian. Hee!
I have to wrap this up, unfortunately, work calls. Love you guys! *hugs*
