XO as social networking tool

Whoah, busy week. I've barely been at the office at all [maybe 2-3 hours total?]...

Monday - Tank and I ran a Record focused workshop out at Moraine Valley Community College and then went home and crashed cause we were wiped.

Tuesday - Everyone got into the office late, and we just killed a little time before heading over to Google Chicago for the Teacher Jam [yay swag!].

Wednesday - We "took the day off" at the Chicago MSI. This meant that we saw 2 special exhibits, met a bunch of volunteers to talk about doing OLPC-ish stuff there, went to the FabLab to talk about me and Mel volunteering there, wound up agreeing to run a workshop the next morning, and have a whole bunch of pending workshops/volunteer days.

Thursday - In the morning all 4 of us went to the MSI to help out with a science camp they run for 6-8 year olds. They were making rollercoasters, so we distributed XOs and showed them how to use Record to take video and photos of their creations, and such. Mel and I left partway through because we had a meeting in Evanston with a local library [the short: they loved it, and want to start up some sort of program, but need to wade through bureaucracy in the meantime]. And then got home and crashed [junior interns: "why are you home so early?"].

Friday - Tank and some Oliners may or may not swing by on their way to Lollapalooza, we have a pre-frosh coming in to hang out in the early afternoon, and a volunteer is dropping by to help with some network testing. And I'm going to my grandmother's [it makes her happy, I go nearly every weekend now]...

family, awesome, olpc, friends
