Original here.

Last weekend, I was in Osaka. *GRINS* It was the best weekend ever. <3 As I'd thought, Osaka is my favourite city! <3 I love the atmosphere of the place, the people are lovely - nice, and friendly, and interesting... OH MAN! I AM OBSESSED WITH OSAKA!

LOL.

Anyway, I went to Osaka by local and epress trains, so that took me about 5 hours and 30 minutes. (Return was by Shinkansen though. Can you imagine the pain I'd go through if I had to take locals again?!)

So remember, I took a 7-hour train ride back from Yokohama earlier in October? Yeah, well, i survived that one, so I thought this 5 hour 30 minute one would be a breeze.

YOU WISH.

Why? Because although the train ride to Toyohashi was a routine affair, my tension kept rising while on the train from Toyohashi to Maibara. I kept checking my watch for the time, and couldn't even concentrate on the book I was reading. Oh, but the next one is worse - from Maibara to Osaka, I kept checking my watch every 5 minutes, and the questions, "Are we there yet?" and "When the heck are we going to reach?" kept running through my head. It was crazy!

So imagine when I finally reached Osaka. I kept SMILING to myself, and went to meet my friends. So (I'm writing this down for posterity's sake), we went to this rose garden, and had okonomiyaki, and visited this REALLY HUGE TEMPLE in the middle of Tenjinbashi, and went to this really cute handmade goods store called Swimmy! I had so much fun - the company was great, the food was great, the places I went to were great! <3

I met my Singaporean ALT friends in the afternoon, and we went to karaoke! My first karaoke since coming to Japan in August. I've missed you, karaoke! So, the main thing is, when we were coming out of the karaoke place, we saw this billboard for a host club, and there were pictures of the hosts put up there. And us, being girls, said we should all choose one, and were making a general racket laughing and choosing and explaining our choices. Then we walked up this short flight of steps. And literally stopped in our steps - Ryoma (one of the hosts from the club) was sitting up there, pretending not to notice.

I'm pretty sure he heard EVERY BIT OF OUR CONVERSATION.

OH. GOD.

We all turned, and went down the steps, and then ESCAPED from another flight. The embarrassment, GOOD GOD.

And the sight of all 5 of us running away from the shop, and laughing down the street. Oh, what a sight. *dies laughing*

And then we had the best tempura I've ever had in my life! (Lil, we've GOT to go there!) The tempura is crunchy, and not oily, the daikon and dashi are FANTASTIC, and the most delicious I've ever had so far. And the plus point? It wasn't even expensive. I'm definitely a repeat customer! *GRINS*

The next day, I met my Singaporean friends (who were here for travelling), and we went shopping in Shinsaibashi, and then I had to go back to the mountains. I really had half the mind NOT to go back, but I had no clothes, and no place to stay, so...

I really, really, really LOVE OSAKA. One day, I will live there. <3 It's a crazy city, with a fantastic atmosphere. I LOVE IT.
