My world crumbles, but in a good way.
Away We Go - I can't believe Sam Mendes is capable of making a sweet, upbeat movie, about a couple that doesn't actually want to kill each other. Soon-to-be parents take a road trip to find a new place to live and get some (occasionally very bad and insane) parenting advice along the way. Very entertaining and sweet.
Up! - I believe David Denby has already called it an "insant classic", and so it is. Best family film since Toy Story and now that's high praise. Heartwarming, heartbreaking, touching, hilarious, and all around a fabulous time at the movies: here's a family film that cares about storytelling. And boy is it good.
Easy Virtue - not exactly high art, but it is quite amusing and it stars Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas (and Jessica Biel, who's surprisingly tolerable). I laughed thoroughly throughout. A good time indeed.
