i am the fast sinking anchor should i fall for you

As for the rest of the weekend...wow, just really socially fulfilling.

Saturday I did my grocery shopping (I get way too much pleasure of out that, but that's besides the point), prepped a pot roast that I still have yet to eat, and grabbed dinner with Sara and Elisha. I particularly enjoyed this because of the spontaneity of it. I was literally online and asked Sara because I had been wanted to catch up with her, and while I was waiting for her outside McCain, Elisha was there. We ended up chatting outside the car for a bit until I invited Elisha along, and we all headed over to MacAllister's for sandwiches.

Afterwards, I grabbed a shower, and Tracy came over for some pregaming. Since Monica was over and hanging out with Helen in the living room, we took the porch. Now, Tracy and I have hung out a decent bit, but I think this may have been the first time we've hung out one-on-one.

I can already feel it; she's going to be a really good friend here. She's well-traveled (lived over in Germany for a good portion of the spring), friendly, outgoing, and very loving and loyal to her friends. She's got that potent combination of fitting with me well personality-wise, humor-wise, and personal interest-wise that's been so hard to come by in this town. What was originally supposed to be a quick drink before the bars turned into about an hour's long conversation.

Eventually we made it to Mae's to meet up with Elisha, but that soon turned into going to O'Malley's where we met up with Melissa and her birthday bar crawl crowd for Belfasts before heading over to the costume party at the trumpet house. Overall is was a somewhat dull but enjoyable party. I pretty much ended up talking with the "old" folks - Tracy, Bayless, Chris. P, Nate, and Elisha, but I was totally ok with that. In other news, some weird dude was being too touchy-feely with me, of course I was being WAY too touch-feely with with other guy, Pat, who lives there. I like Pat because he's fun to flirt with in a "nothing will ever happen between the two of us" way. Granted, it's rather over-the-top, overtly sexual flirtatiousness, but isn't that the best kind?

I also ended up having a decent time sitting next to Nate in a circle playing cards. He's a sweet guy, and I could see him being a friend, but if I'm not drinking, it's tough because we often have nothing to talk about. Then again, isn't that how it goes with all new friends? Truthfully, I'm not too concerned.

Later at one point, there was even a ridiculous flip cup contest in the attic of which I was a part. I was starting to get tired, though, so I had Tracy take me home. Again, I was practically sober and still had a great time.

So glad I was able to turn over that ugly leaf last month and get back into my swing of things.

Oh and Tracy drunk-dialed Dan. I think he's coming to visit again next weekend. Woo!
