Bittersweet summer that laster so long
that never ended yet, here I am.
As my last hearts trickle out
and lights leave my street
I see that we exchanged knives and coins
to bond our lives to each others lines.
smaller stars bursting on the sidewalk cement
could not tear the huddle out of time
we trapped the moment in our minds
and lingered in that moment until
there was nothing left.
but empty countertops waited for me tonight
and im dreading the pacing morning light
quick on the heels of the dew i knew between my toes
perhaps just tonight when i lie awake tommorow will give me this moment. a day off from itself. I will stay awake until my eyes tear crimson hackneyed pain and my bloodshot testimant that held off that day.
That day. I can fight with my right hand until I limp off, battered because I can't fight off my life.
My left hand knows though.
and it tethers birds of a feather to fly me together to the place that I never will return from ever.
Goodbye my princesses, remember me in your shining bliss.
Sweet dreams my princesses, remember me in your lover's embrace.
Fare thee well my knights, guard my towers and stand over our cause and always remember the chivalry that life teaches us.
