Friends, Family, and Acquaintances:

I am writing to inform you of my move to Albuquerque, New Mexico, effective January 5th. Effective immediately my new address will be:
611 Lead SW
Apartment 812
Albuquerque, NM 87102

You can still reach me at the same cell phone, but this address will be in effect for probably two months, at which time, I will send out another email with my updated address. My cell phone for those who do not have it, but would like it may email and request it. If I do not answer it’s because I am busy, please leave a message otherwise I won’t know you called. Furthermore, my email address that you should be using is cjkitos@gmail.com. I still use cjkitos@yahoo.com, but my preferred email is my gmail. If all correspondence can be sent to gmail instead I would greatly appreciate it.

Now you may be wondering why I am moving to Albuquerque. I had a decision to make between staying in Kansas, moving to Eugene, Oregon, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The reason why I chose Albuquerque over Eugene is because I feel there are better possibilities for advancement down in the Southwest. Additionally, I have been an active member of the Ottawa University community for the past three years, being involved at various times with Campus Ministries, KTJO-FM RAGE 88.9, the “Campus” newspaper, OUT (OU Theatre), Alpha Psi Omega, Pi Kappa Delta, Student Senate and establishing College Republicans, and Students Advocating Free Expression ([S.A.F.E.] in partnership with sotik) as well as having an opportunity for experience at KOFO.

This move has come with much deliberation, and many meetings and discussions with those close to me. I have come to the conclusion that this is what I feel is best for me at this point in my life. We all have to grow up and move on from our roots, and I am starting that process now. I have many opportunities to be involved in various activities in Albuquerque including Broadcast stations television and radio; as well as getting in with a Public Relations firm. I have also been in contact, and will be continuing contact with some social service agencies to see what I can do as regards to volunteer work in around the metro area with youth and children, which by virtue is one of my passions. I plan on applying and getting into Central New Mexico Community College for a small course load to re-establish myself in the academic setting after an extremely difficult medical semester at Ottawa University.

Following my establishment of residency in New Mexico, I plan on finishing my degree, which at current, is: A major in Communication Studies. My emphases include: Business and Professional Communication, Public Relations, Psychology, and Broadcasting. I am complete with the first and third of those emphases. I have about 6 hours in Broadcasting to finish and about 12 hours in Public Relations to complete my Bachelor Of Arts Degree.

Although this move will be a difficult move for me as my entire life is here in Kansas. Everything that I have every known, and am familiar with are located here. Not to mention all of my friends and family as well as those I consider family are located here in Kansas. However, I do have friends in many of the 50 United States, New Mexico is not one where I have people that I know already. I am moving to a location where I can start over in essence. I have had many opportunities here in my home state, hometown, and surrounding communities. I unfortunately have also had many situations and circumstances that have caused a great deal of grief between myself and those close to me. I feel I have given all that I can in this region and it is time to move on to a new area and render my experiences and passions to a different community in a different area then I am familiar with.

As I said, this is going to be a difficult move, and I want to stay in contact with as many people as I possibly can. Just because I have made the decision to move to the Southwest, does not mean that I will push my friends, and family and business partners away. It also does not mean that I will ignore your correspondence. I really appreciate the handful of folks that I have talked to that has and is being particularly supportive of my decision. I have thought this through and as I have grown in twenty-three years, I have come to the realization that I am making fewer and fewer decisions without proper though and consideration.

Thank you for all of your support, love and respect. This truly is a difficult move but I believe it is the best decision I can make at this point in my life. Again, thank you for your love and support!
