It reads, "Guess who Stephen Harper and the Alliance/Conservatives want you to vote for? Stephen Harper can only win this election if you vote NDP. Is that what you want? It's your choice... in Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough & Westdale... choose wisely. Your smart and strategic choice is Vote Russ Powers. (Liberal)"
It makes me sick to think that we live in a country with a free vote, yet there isn't an integral party to vote for. Just like the last federal election, very few people are excited to vote for the Liberal party; rather, people are merely voting against the Conservatives. I don't even fucking know what the Liberal party stands for anymore, with right-wing Paul Martin in place... but of course, the Liberals don't really want to tell me. They'd rather try to scare me out of voting NDP, who they know fully well have, traditionally, received the most support in the Westdale area.
I, in most cases consider myself a leftist, but in this case, I think I am going to vote Conservative. At least they're upfront about the damage they intend to do.
