do the adventures never end?

so tonight was the modest mouse concert. adam and i had been planning on going for a while, but then i guess forrest got a whole bunch of tickets too. so there were a lot of us. eight to be exact i guess. anyway. we got in a little late as we were waiting for everyone to get there, so we missed the first opener an part of the second. we didn't think the second was that bad, but according to mel who i ran into at the end, the first opener was better. she had gotten all the way up front with the people she was with, and they were standing next to someone who is on the oc the whole time. oh well. so yeah, good concert, played lots of good songs and did some of them in cool new ways. they had an encore of two songs that took them forever to come back for. the lights sorta started coming on right as they were coming out again. i don't know if they meant to do that or what, but whatever. they came back out and played two more songs. it's a concert, they played music, go figure.
so as per forrest's "oh yeah, it's totally fine i've done it before" we parked in the savon parking lot across the street from the wiltern. bad idea. he had somehow managed to get out before us, and when adam called to find where he was, he was like "get your ass over here, yours is the only car left". we at first took that to mean there weren't a ton of cars in the lot and so someone who cares might notice. but actually it meant that diamond towing had the second to last car hooked up and ready to go, with my car being the last car, which they hadn't gotten to yet. so when we saw forrest half way over to the lot and he says "my car is already gone" adam takes off with my keys to get my car out before it got towed too. and luckily we got it out in time. there were two other cars with our group, forrest's and josh's. both of their cars got towed, and there were a couple other people who had already been towed as well. i guess they put the cars up on a flatbed to take over to the lot, and all the ones on the flatbed (including forrest's, but not josh's) could be retrieved for the minimum price of $200. the car that was hooked up but hadn't been taken over yet they let out for $100. but josh wasn't so lucky, as his had already gone to the lot. we let forrest take him to go get his car since it was his idea to park there, and the rest of us in my car (adam, kason and lucas) went back to the west side since we all have class and shit in the morning. so that was that adventure.
on the way back we stopped in westwood village at this burrito place 'cause people were hungry, and while we were outside eating one of my students from the spring walked by. the four of us were just talking or whatever when all of a sudden there was this "hey rachel!" last friday i ran into one of my students from my first quarter. i hadn't seen her in a while. i think she is going to come by my office hours on wednesday. former students are fun. and i seem to see them in bunches. actually, there are three in the discussion that is after mine in the room i teach in on monday mornings. one of them is someone who really worked hard to turn his grade around last winter, so i kinda had gotten to know him 'cause he came to office hours at the end of the quarter.
anyway. i could write about the agony of grading today, or the fact that i have to teach at 9 tomorrow morning, but i'll spare ya that ;).
