That sounds like a splendid way to celebrate and I can see how you'd combine Anime Boston into it -- you're like me in not wishing to feel greedy I think. In Florida we had those Chinese Asian places...one of them was amazing though, but it was run by Japanese people and I was lucky that Florida had very nice East Coast influenced Cantonese. Would you believe San Francisco also has lots of those hecka fake teriyaki (I'm looking at you Nijiya) and mayo drizzling (did we mention siracha lol).
I haven't had vegetable tempura in a while too, now that you mention it. I owe Mom a dinner and I've sort of been saving my Japantown appetite. Green tea is such an amazing flavor in desserts, I don't know why. Magic.

I don't mind the occasional American-style sushi when I feel in the mood for it (like American Chinese food), but people who only eat that kinda stuff and never try the more traditional/authentic sushi...I feel like they're missing out! Not everything has to be covered in mayo or weird sauces or partially deep-fried to be delicious. :/
I looooove green tea ice cream, esp. mochi ice cream. I wish it wasn't so uncommon in my area...living in the Seattle area spoiled me so, lol.

Well, times they are a changing, so I'm sure Texas may very well catch up. Anywhere there isn't a market for things, there is a niche waiting to be filled!
