Surprisingly, I am not totally dead, and even find time to play FFXI now and then (usually one or two days a week for one to two hours). It amazes me I ever used to have the time I used to spend playing FFXI full time. I don't by any means regret that time, it's just shocking to me to think back to those days when the hours seemed to go by much slower.
Anyway, I usually find time to at least do an ENM once a week I am used to soloing. Today, after a major FFXI reinstall and getting all my stuff back where it needed to be, I set out to retest my mettle.
Aspis was being particularly bitchy today, and had an unusual amount of HP. Usually after chainspell, depending on my damage he hovers around 40-65% life depending on how many resists I get. Today after a good 10-12 nukes of between 400-550 damage, he was still sitting at 50% life. That's unusual to say the least, but I still decided to make a good show of it.
Anyway, Bind was sticking like it usually did and I had to pop my emergency Vile Elixir I always carry with me for these things. Things were tough, but smooth for a while.. Until he was at 1%. I decided to book it. Even got some good distance between him and I...
LONGEST 1% EVAR!
Alas, it was not to be so. Even if I had RR up, DOT's wear immediately. I wonder how much health he had left. The funny thing is, I don't really care. It was a shitty end to a good fight, but this bitch has whored out to me on a pretty regular basis, so I don't really care. SE has been fucking us around for years and we've been paying them for it.
I think it's kind of funny to be honest.
