OH MY GOD. NOT FUCKING FUNNY, UNIVERSE.
40 DEGREES IS NOT WEST COAST CANADIAN WEATHER. EVER.
I spent the day tromping about in this heat. My face has taken on a red cast, and I'm hoping this doesn't mean sunburn, but at least I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean sunstroke, because that would suck SO VERY MUCH MORE

So, I got the widget that converts units and discovered that 40C=104F - holy shit that's hot. You've probably got heat exhaustion, lesser than sun/heat stroke. I get really red if it's hot and I'm out for too long. Hubby says I just melt and turn into some sort of Linda Blair/Exorcist creature. Blames my Scandanavian/Celtic heritage, yes he does.
As far as your eyes go, have they done that computerized mapping of your eye's inners? It allows snaps to be taken, which can be compared over time. My eye doc does it. Also, they've been watching me for years for this since there's a strong family history of it and I've got higher than normal eye pressure. Turns out I've got thick corneas that affect the readings.
sucks getting older, doesn't it? ;-)

Heh. I have a trick, though. Wet a tea towel, wring until no longer drippy, and lay this over whatever part of you needs it most. Lie down with a fan blowing along your body. If you stop feeling the effect, use a squirt bottle to refresh the towel. This is some EXCELLENT relief.
Doc wants to do the mapping thing. My eyes aren't uniform and one has higher pressure than the other, so he wants to get it mapped. He warned me about laser surgery to increase drainage, and it doesn't sound too horrible... but I'd rather not have to go THAT route.
Damn it, I'm 34 in less than six weeks. GAH.

And you're not a sun-junkie like one of my coworkers (oh poor woman, her chest looks like it belongs on a 90 year old).
And you're not a makeup whore like most girls I know (this one girl, her pores, *shakes head sadly*). So yeah.
Maybe you look 20 because everyone else's skin looks so much older than it needs to, making your skin look younger by comparison?

My eyes are usually different pressure as well. Have the doc just measure your cornea, it's no worse than the pressure tests - really. Doesn't hurt to have all the info, you know?
There's something about lasering an otherwise healthy eye that makes me twitch. If the drops don't cut it, then yes. But damn woman, use the drops first!
