I did however just update my Wordpress to the 2.1 release, so that counts for something, right?
I have skeined up a little under half the yarn I dyed last Sunday, but my arm got tired so it’s not completely done. That’s ok, it’s really pretty hanging in the window and makes me smile every time I pass it.
I ordered some pencil roving from Crown Mountain Farms. One colorway for shmoo (Pumpkin Patch), and one for me (Tibetan Dreams).
I’ve even spun up a little of the fiber I got for shmoo. And it’s beautiful. And he doesn’t hate it. And he told me he’d love for me to spin and knit a scarf for him. How sweet is he?
Speaking of knitting up handspun. I knit the rest of my last handspun, the October Night stuff, in the one row scarf pattern from Yarn Harlot. I think it was in the October? Archives. It’s the CO 26, *k2, kbl, p1* across, rinse, repeat. But I digress. It was really nice, and springy, and surprisingly thin. Alas, it ended up being too short to actually be a scarf.
So I used the k2togtbl cast off so it could be easily ripped later if I have more similar handspun to add to it and it’s now a mat on the back on the toilet under my pottery bowl (made by me in college) and a big ass seashell I bought at a shop in Mexico Beach, Florida.
And I have knit some more on the black banana/sari silk scarf, and have actually managed to get to the sari silk part of it. So it’s not just black anymore. Admittedly only by 2 rows, but I should finish it up this week some time.
