A fantastic whizbang

i survived my recent episode of single parenthood. it was actually sort of fun this time around. the kids got their projects done and somehow i had them doing homework all weekend. they didnt even realize it until the last day when i mentioned it.
kim wasn't there most of the time since she was in orlando and we spent just about all day saturday at the baseball field because steven had a double-header. nothing was really on time though so we were there from like 10:15 in the morning til around like 6:30 in the evening. it was something. interesting though. one of steven's coaches is trying to get me a job. he's really nice. both of the main coaches are young and they don't have kids on the team. they just used to play there when they were kids. and then he's also trying to play matchmaker between me and the other coach. found that a little odd, i think. i dunno. dating isn't really my thing. i'd just rather not do that now.
r.j. came over the other day. totally caught me by surprise, as he intended. i haven't seen him in like a year. so that was nice. we just hung out and caught up for a while. many many more people from high school i haven't talked to are married now. feeling much like a child. it was wierd. he just told me he's going into the military but until then he's working at some car parts store or something and my battery died the other day and my dad took my car to go get a new one today and just happened to go where r.j. works and was served by him. funny.
speaking of my battery, i felt like such a dumb blonde the other day (sorry to all blondes. i just mean the idea of the stereotype). steven and i went to church and then the grocery store and everything was fine but when i got out of the store, my car wouldn't start so i called AAA and they came and jumped it. so the guy was like, i'm gonna need you to pop the hood, so i was like ok. so i went in my car and pulled the thing with the hood picture on it. it was then i realized i haven't done this before, though i've seen it done. so i'm feeling around under the hood for the little lever thing that actually opens it and i was just aimlessly searching for what felt like forever, when i stoppped and i was like ....uh so i actually have no idea what i'm doing. he just laughed and did it himself. i felt kinda better because he didn't get it right away neither...and neither did my dad today. anyway...
more some other time.
