Teaching 2-year-olds

Things at work are going well. I really feel like this past week was better because my co-worker and I have been a bit more organized. We planned out projects we were going to do, what items we'd need to do them, and when we were going to do them. We got a lot of the lesson plans done all at once so it would be finished ahead of time. I like being a teacher so far. At first, I was kinda freaked out by the heavy workload on TOP of actually teaching the children. We have to do a lot of extra stuff. And the kids are 2 years old so they really wear you out by the end of the day lol. They're cute though.

I am keeping in mind that I want to build up the children and not tear them down by negative words...even if they don't do something they should be doing, they still should be built up. I really think working with these children is preparation for when I have my children one day. I want to be the best mother that I can possibly be. That's in my heart. Being a teacher is giving me experience with multitasking with the children too. For example, this Friday, I taught the class by myself because it was my co-worker's day off. I only had 4 kids in the class but it was still crazy! So...I had to help everyone with the potty (which took about 15 minutes to do)...then, I had to get their food ready for lunch. As each kid was finished with the potty, I told them to go sit down at the table for lunch. One of them said "I want my food". I was thinking...but I havent made it yet..I was just helping you with potty. It really does help to have two people doing it because you get different things done at once. But it was an experience. Then, while they were eating, I had to write down what they ate for lunch, how much, etc. while at the same time, watching them, and cleaning up any spills. It's a lot! Also, I had to start putting out the cots so they could get ready for nap. It's a lot to do all at the same time. I'm glad I am learning though...I feel like they're teaching me how to be a teacher.
