Next Tuesday is the big day. I go to Brooklyn next week for my interview. My sister and best friend are coming with me to NY so we can all hang out in Manhattan after the interview. Yesterday I was stressing about all the planning it's taking to even get there. My friend is from Maryland and she was planning on driving from there to NY and just meeting us at Port Authority. I didn't think she should drive because NY is definitely NOT a city you want to drive in. She insisted on driving because "she feels more comfortable doing so". I called her again last night to try to convince her not to because it's going to be a headache and a half if she drives. I just don't want to deal with waiting an extra hour for her to meet us and then taking another hour to drive to Brooklyn, and then another hour trying to find parking. Plus, parking would be ridiculously expensive! I just hope she decides on taking the bus like my sister and I are.

I'm really getting sick of hearing so much unnecessary political trash-talking about Barack Obama on the news. I mean, I understand that this is how it gets when it gets down to the final hour, but come on! First, people were saying that he was plagiarizing people's speeches to make his own...then they said he was somehow affiliated with the Muslim community because of his name...now they're saying that he's racist because he goes to a black church in Chicago. Every candidate, and even president for that matter, uses pieces of other speeches to add to their speech...plus, it's called "speech writer". And Barack can't help what his name is...he was just born with it! And, the church that he goes to may be a black church but that doesn't mean he's racist...there are tons of white churches out there too. It all kinda coincides with the community the church is located in. Obviously, if you're living in the south side of Chicago, you're gonna be living amongst mostly blacks.
