Would you read a fic if it's breaks your OTP?
And I mean not just any fic, but a really good one. And it's perfect: the writing, the idea, character and relationship development; but the two characters you wish to be together are not.
Personally I don't care. Sure I have favourite pairings, but I'm a sucker for a good story and if it's really good I can even put up with my favourite pair being broken by someone else (as in they were together in the beginning but in the end they are not). I would root for them even without hope, but will enjoy the story none the less. And if they were never together in the first place then I would gladly read and reread it multiple times.
Well, there's also my habit of picking a character and pairing him up with almost everyone. So, I guess, I'm all for diversity.
