In Defence Of Season 5

Yeah, I'm doing a thing right now. I intended to come on and basically freak out about the Brothers and Sisters finale, but in my world, this takes precedence. I was flisting and flisting my flist's flists (lol, yes stalker) and I saw at least 4 posts and comments in which people diss season 5. And I am so sick and tired of it. Bravo! Well said!

I particularly agree that 7A WF 83429 is as stunning a season opener as any of the others. And Gaza? Yeah. It's too amazing for words. My mom was watching that arc with me for the first time the other day and was like, "So, why don't Josh and Donna get together until Season 7?" Hahahaha.

One of my favorite things about S5, as you mentioned, is the First Family dynamic. I LOVE all three of the first daughters, and well, how could anyone argue against the amazingness that is Abbey Bartlet.

I've been thinking of how I hate S5 getting trashed all week, and then you come and write this. So, thank you.

I love the beginning of S6 very much as well. Some of the later episodes of that season aren't as good (same for S7), but the truth is, even though it may not be S1-S4, those last three seasons were still better than anything on television. I started watching at the beginning of S6 because I adore Kristin Chenoweth and it hooked me right in. It was only later that I went back and watched the whole series, which is when I found out how incredible it was and how stupid I was for missing it all those years. You're right, we do have the most amazing favorite TV show.

I do disagree with you on one point, though. I HATE Mary McCormack's bangs! LOL

P.S. The Supremes is one of the best episodes of the entire series. Could there have been a more perfect choice for Evelyn Baker Lang than Glenn Close?
