Huh. A town public library that's open until 7:30 two nights a week. Strange, yet convenient. In town tonight, obviously. Had some shopping to do this afternoon, and thought I'd do supper at the Bee's Knees. They have a fascinating book on their shelf that studies coffee shops, bars, etc--informal meeting areas--how they work, why they matter to human life as a form of egalitarian socializing space. Interesting, academic, though lacking some of the obvious references--Turner on liminality and communitas, anyone? Supposed to be some kind of birthday bash/musical something or other at Bee's Knees tonight, which is why I'm still here. Going to check it out. I bought three bottles of 'Chuck's at the liquor store, and am preparing to go back into the cafe for at least a little while. Twin sister's baby could be appearing any day now. Can't wait; nervous as all heck. Couldn't sit through last night's debate; Tom Brokaw's obsession with time limits made it nigh unbearable.
Anyway, weekly post I suppose. Hope everyone's doing well.
Cheers,
Snyrt
