Evidently I don't know the back of my hands that well, because they're the only part of my body that I managed to get sunburned today. I was at the Mitzvah garden for several hours (because I like it, even though its' ridiculous hot outside). I was covered from head to toe with wide brimmed hat, spf shirt and long pants. However, I took off my gardening gloves to help water and managed to sunburn the back of my hands. They don't hurt, but after all my effort am somewhat miffed. Also, trying to avoid skin cancer.
Went to Olathe farmer's market this afternoon. Came home with tomatoes, amazing apricots, new potatoes and cucumbers. Actually, I was so enamored of the baby cucumbers that I asked for two boxes. Then I realized the ladies behind me also wanted cucumbers and I felt kind of greedy for buying two of the rapidly dwindling supply. Roasted the new potatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper. Were amazingly delicious, but didn't realize how many WW points they had. Also made coleslaw. I found a mayo recipe (which both M. and I like) and a non-mayo recipe (which I like0), so I split the cabbage and made 1 of each. I assumed the non-mayo recipe would have fewer points, but it turned out to be more than the mayo-recipe. go figure! I cooked 2 artichokes yesterday because they were sitting in my fridge and I was afraid they'd get mushy. They also made a delicious mid afternoon snack with some homemade salad dressing (balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil and, wait for it...
Montreal Chicken Seasoning. Tastes a lot like Good Seasons' Italian dressing). Since M. doesn't like artichokes, more for me :)
I keep waking up at 4:30am, 5am and am unable to go back to sleep. So I get up and wash dishes, etc. But I also wake up M., who is understandably kind of crabby that early.
Also realize that if I don't clean our home office, I think we will be swallowed by an avalanche of clutter.
