I have recently been introduced to the concept of "Sweet Potato Fries." Am trying to recreate my own oven-baked version as I type. They smell good, but they'd probably be better if deep fried :)
Why is it that I always expect more from law students? An NPR story about female law students
suing for online defamation. Evidently, some students posted anonymous threats and harrassment (threats of rape/bodily violence) about female law students on a law student discussion site online. Umm, we have to memorize the elements of defamation, why the hell would you actually commit it?!? And where are the voices decrying threatening people like that? (The most effective speech is counterspeech, etc.) I guess law students are collectively just as dumb and mean as the rest of the population when it comes to personal abuse of internet. Could be outrageous enough to justify intentional infliction of emotional distress (bar exam favorite!)
I attended a make up video this afternoon on corporation. The lecturer had this singsong repetitive delivery that put me in mind of both "Fraggle Rock" (He actually looked like an oversized Fraggle.) and some of the songs on Sesame Street. Hey, I'll know if it was an effective strategy for teaching if I wake up tonight humming, "No benefits for you if you trade within 6 months of purchase under rule 16 (b)!"
Shout out to Anna Francesca and her new larval human,
Baby Dee! (Actually, Baby Dee made an appearance 3 weeks ago, but I was too self absorbed to notice. Welcome to the planet, earthlet!)
