metamorphosis of the pod llama

Jan 04, 2007 11:15

My little llama feet reach out of the tub of ectoplasmic goo that I've been stewing in for the last few days...to type out this update.

Tuesday:
Josh-llama and I went out for Ethiopian food (yum!) and to see the film Sweet Land at the arts theater in Westport. The movie, told in flashbacks, is the story of a mail-order bride who arrives in Minnesota farm country in the 1920's speaking no English. There is very little dialogue in the film, and there are no subtitles for the dialogue in German and Norwegian, but the movie is as much about what is left unspoken as what is said. I really enjoyed it, and Josh was a good date. (I don't think I could have gotten M. anywhere near the theater if I mentioned "farmers" and "Minnesota.")

Llama: Josh, I had a good time today. I didn't feel the need to beat you once all afternoon.
Josh: Okaaaay...
Llama: That was a compliment.
Josh: Alright.

Wednesday:
Not much happened here.

M. and I met with the Remax buyers' agent to help us get started with house hunting. The agent also flies hot air balloons. We decided that this was an attribute in his favor.
I got really lost in Olathe when I went to pick M up from work. I know how to get to his office pretty easily, (its the tallest building in Olathe, so you can see it from pretty much anywhere.) It's just I wanted to stop at the Mall first, but that was ill advised. Luckily, I was there an hour early, so it didn't really matter that I was driving aimlessly around. I did find the courthouse and the post office, which is useful if we end up moving around there.

Thursday:
Supposed to meet with Daddy-Llama to peruse the furniture he brought back from Bubbe's NY apt.
Dad: You can't beat free furniture!
