(no subject)
I feel so sneaky when posting from school! Well, I've been quite studious all day so I think I'm due for a break -- it makes me feel better about being stuck in the library if I can also waste time on LJ. That said, though, some of the security settings on these school computers are ridiculous. First of all, I didn't even know we had our internet censored in college, what the hell; secondly, I just got blocked out of a friggen Merlin page because it said it was tagged for sexual content. ??? I... sigh. Whatever.
But speaking of Merlin...! I'm still so in love with this show, geez. It's my perfect brand of campy delight and I honestly cannot get over how adorably precious everybody is. Getting used to a wee sprightly Merlin has been quite easy because... seriously... he is so. ridiculously. cute. *squishes* And he and Arthur? "Two halves of the same whole" and dressing him and getting all flustered about his well-being and generally just being adorable (have I used that word enough already)? EEEE. And then being a chronic multishipper, I also very much loved the Arthur/Morgana as well, both the muted sexual tension before the fight and the childish bickering afterward. And Gwen/Morgana! So great together at the fight; although isn't it about time that we started seeing them in their own A-plots, hmmmyes? I thought so.
I was so so so so excited about Pushing Daisies coming back, and it was well worth the wait. I think I've probably surfeited on the words "cute" and "adorable" in this post, so... errr... I don't even know how to voice my affection any more. How about bullet point form? That might be slighty non-gushy-er:
-Happy Time shout-out! Hehehe. :D
-"She's 38, which rounds up to 40, which rounds up to 50, which rounds up to old."
-MISS OLIVE SNOOK. OMG HOW I HAVE MISSED YOU. I... just... guhhh. Everything about her is perfect.
-And, okay, question. I'm sure this has been address by others before but I didn't catch up with the show until after the first season has finished so I probably missed out on the discussion. But... okay... the Charles family? Kind of breaks my brain. Charles Charles = Chuck's father, yes, okay. And then we find out that Lily Charles = Chuck's mother. ...?? I remember being very confused by that because, well, same last name... I assumed she was Chuck's aunt through her father's side, as in, Charles' sister. Which is somewhat problematic given that it's now been established that she had his baby. So? I'm sure it would fit with the show if, you know, he and Vivian were attracted to each other through the magic of having the same last name and they always had to sit next to each other in class in grade school or whatever, but it's doing rather wacky things to my mental family tree of these guys. And, yeah, Vivian being his fianceé just makes everything extra whaaat because... really... whaaaat? Then how did he just suddenly appear with a baby out of nowhere when they were engaged? Or had they already broken it off by then? How much contact did Chuck have with her aunts when her father was still alive? *so confused*
