Let's kick out an October update!
Scarlett is at seven months and she's crushing so many milestones. She's practically walking and has two teeth! It's adorable. She's gotten onto solid foods but wow are dinners a mess now. She's become more and more work for just Nicole and I but it's a good kind of work. We expect she'll be walking unassisted in less than a month.
Also, Scarlett has her first real cousin! Nicole's sister gave birth to her first child, a son, on October 17th meaning Scarlett's extended family is growing. Looking forward to them growing up together although perhaps it'll be from afar as they're in Missouri. Who knows. But yea, exciting times!
The first week of October was a vacation to Montana to visit Nicole's best friend, Abby, and her family. It was Scarlett's first real big trip and we split the trips into two travel days each so it was also Scarlett's first time in hotels. The trip went well both ways (We even got to see my old college buddy, Matt, and his son, Liam, in Spokane) but while we were in Montana, Nicole, Scarlett, and I came down with a crappy head cold that made us lose several days. We stuck around an extra day which made up for it and we had a great time visiting and getting away. Scarlett had a lot of firsts (First out-of-state trip, first illness, first time around ducks and chickens, first dance party...) and it was over all too soon.
Right after the Montana trip was technically Nicole and my sixth wedding anniversary. We were still sorta recovering from the illness and the trip so while I'd taken the week off from work, it didn't really feel too special of an anniversary. Nicole's mother came for a week to visit and see Scarlett and while that was fun, it meant Nicole and I didn't get all that much romance between us. That's been kind of the story of our lives lately, though. Bringing up Scarlett leaves little time for anything else even visiting people, being visited, or connecting with each other. We're sure this is just a phase and things will get better so we're focused on that and keeping the positive energy going as best we can. At the end of the day, Scarlett is a beautiful little bunny rabbit and we're loving having her no matter what, so we can stay the course.
