Frankly, kid, you're overestimating the importance of and overpoliticising your personality quirks

There? You see? You're secretly gayer than you thought.

And the hipster attitude of always being in some special group or being a special group unto yourself is exactly the damn opposite of a functional world, basically. I just feel everything's sliding more and more into these factions of different sexualities, races, genders and whatnot just when we've been struggling so hard for the past fifty years to make everyone get along. Suddenly it's all just getting way more sexist (especially from the Tumblrgenders) and sexuality-ist (heterosexuals are ruining everything!!!1) and racist "don't dare come near my culture" and so on and so forth. I know a part of it is because we've got an entire generation that got all their knowledge off the internet and not from books, and thus was informed by all kinds of moronic bloggers who didn't have decades/centuries' worth of dialogue and research behind them (like the feminist/liberal/history/anthropology books I read as a teenager and in my twenties). So suddenly all that progress seems to have fallen down a ravine and everyone's just acting like a bunch of selfish arseholes, accommodate my quirks and blahblahblah, when they should be thinking about how to accommodate *everyone.* It's all so very navel-gazey today and I'm not on board that at all.
