This was awesome! I was squeaking with joy and laughing out loud and flinching in surprise all throughout. Awesome pacing, Mr. Moff, awesome pacing. RIVER. RIVER. WHY ARE YOU SO FUCKING AWESOME AND GORGEOUS, RIVER? Alex has all the right curves, too, and I'm glad they showed them off :q (Is there River/Lix 10 pr0n out there? Please tell me there is? 'cos, y'know.) RIVER RIVER RIVER. ILU SO HARD, WOMAN. IS IT OK IF I MARRY HER? I WON'T MIND SHARING WITH THE DOCTOR.
And the *moment* the Doctor started talking about the greatest warrior and threat and destroyer, I thought of him and/or Time Lords in general. So I was glad to see I was right. All the aliens teaming up to lock him up stretched credibility a bit, and it felt very much like the sort of thing you'd see in Who comics. But it was still well done. And jesus FUCK, the dismembered Cyberman D: I haven't flinched or gone ick at Cybermen that hard since the 60s ones, so that's saying something.
And the Amy/Rory stuff was great this week. Holy shiiiiiiiiit. I punched the air and went YES YES YES when Rory showed up again (to be honest, I never thought he was really dead in the first place). And how cool is it that they've taken Amy's memories to construct that scenario? Woo.
WHY IS IT NOT NEXT WEEK ALREADY?
ETA: Please tell me I wasn't the only one who wanted him to go all Ferris Bueller
in this bit and just start singing Twist and Shout. It probably would've been more convincing;). Since AFAIK, the defining characteristic of all the returning alien monsters is that they never, ever learn that the Doctor's going to kick their arses:D
