30 Days of Who
Day 02 - Your favorite classic series story
Um. Yeah. I wonder how many of these questions I can answer with "The Time Monster". It's not even the best of stories, when you think of pacing and general writing quality. If you asked me to list the best Who stories ever, I'd probably pick different ones (like Kinda for the philosophy, lots of Gothic Tom for awesomeness, Douglas Adams-era stuff for the lols, plenty of b/w stories like S6 stuff for good storytelling and rich, layered plots, et cetera). And yet The Time Monster has everything. It's very silly and at times profound and it has the most wonderful character stuff and and and and. It is, at heart, a very warm story. And I love it so.
And it has, y'know, him. Which is never a guarantee of a brilliant story, obviously, but it has him at his charming evil best.
