I preffered the last two episodes but I thought this one was a lot of fun as well.
Every time Alex kept saying that she was closer to home, I kept thinking that she so wasn't, especially if we're getting a third season and we bloody better. Ratings have been excellent and all.
The main case wasn't the strongest we had, though I didn't suspect Stanley at all. I was pretty sure that dopey Donna was the one who bumped off Colin, not the neighbourhood watch father.
I have to admit that Trevor Riley was without a doubt, the worst villain we had. Terrible actor and not very menacing. Loved that Chris and Ray were able to get him on parking tickets.
Gene getting beaten up was terrible but there was some nice scenes between him and Alex. How did Ray and Chris evade getting the snot beaten out of them?
I never thought about Ray's sexuality until this series. Even Mackintosh's reports on the BBC site made some pointed comments as did Chris. And the Liberace/Valentino comments, heehee. Even Alex said in her letter that he was repressed.
Chris and Shaz had some good moments. I liked that Shaz told him that she didn't want a big thing. Alex saw potential in Shaz. Of course she does. The Alex/Shaz dynamic is a mirror of the Sam/Chris one from LOM.
I'm surprised we didn't get any more on Martin Summers apart from the phone call and the dead roses but there's always next week, 8/10
Hm, yeah. Although I'm surprised you're doing episode reviews in the comments of my post, because those seem like the sort of things you are probably better off putting on your own journal--they just seem journal post-like. I don't even know who you are, really, so it feels weird to have these reviews dumped on me in comments by a stranger--and as responses to comments rather than the post itself, which is also a bit odd. *scratches head* I'd rather you did it on your own LJ, please, because it is weirding me out a bit (and if you've read my profile, you'll know I'm more than a bit jumpy about strangers coming in here). I can't friendslock everything, but I'm a pretty private person and easily irked, so, yeah, take it easy with me and give me some room... thought I'd give you a friendly warning, just so you know.
