Ok, so I slept for 17 hours, but boy, did I need that.
The cat didn't agree. Translation: she'd reached the bottom of her food bowl. Now, she normally doesn't like to be in your lap, even though she's a whore for scritches and affectionate. I am starting to appreciate this.
Because at one point during the day (can't really tell if it was day or night or morning because it's so light this time of the year), I was lying on my back and had a nightmare of suffocating.
Only to find a bloody 24 to 28-pound (11 to 13 kg) cat sleeping on my chest, STARING at me and mauling my boobs and throat with its giant paws, purring and going "RRAKKAKAKAK-RAK-MEEH". AUUUGH.
Yes, it worked. But the next cat I'm going to have will definitely have to be a normal small one. There are frickin' lynx species the size of Noki. She's louder than before and talking more often, I've noticed. And even more creative with language. It's hardly ever a simple "mew" now, it's always at least three syllables--"REK-KEK-KEK" or "RAK-UR-AA" or even "RUK-URRUK-RU-RAA-UR" (I am not shitting you). If my digicam captured sound properly I'd so video her every time I went to the kitchen (or even got up). Now there's definitely two of us skilled in the art of talking bollocks. (And now I'm getting GLARES from the armchair. Oops.)
In other news, the graphics tablet has been packed and is awaiting delivery. I will possibly stare daggers at them if this means I'm going to have to wait until next week. "Them" being
Pixmania.com, mostly because they sell tech gadgets about 20e cheaper than anyone else. *twitch*
Ah well. Back to pirate porn. Drive-by-rec for
this one. I got the best sorts of Blake/Avon-type vibes from it because it's about wanting what you can't have, perverse desires, good buildup via some breathtakingly hawt not-actually-shagging-but-sexual-in-a-kinky-psychological-way scenes and evilness and a love-hate relationship and The Fandom Slut concept actually working and hooray. I don't know why she warns about OFCs because there are just a few random trollops there not doing much, so no fear of the dreaded Sues either. Of course, it's by a writer who's now disappeared off the face of the earth complete with deleted LJ and argh. She used to do more than just one pairing, too, I remember her Sparringtons kicking arse as well. Thankfully some of them are still up on the site I've linked to. *clings to them hard*
