Mostly the same thoughts as others. Good, not quite great. It's also the most serious of the movies by far.... although maybe serious isn't the right word. "Solemn" perhaps. Horribly behind on LJ, but nothing better to do as I wait for the Oscars to start. I watched The Reader earlier today and it sucks. Well, watched parts of it. Wasn't good enough to hold my attention the whole time. The problem is that the main conceit of the movie is just bad.

Mm. Got back from an enjoyable trip up to the Albany area yesterday. I got to be reminded of how out of shape I was in a 5K run/walk event; knowing I was out of shape, my target time was 30 minutes (a blazing 10 minutes per mile or so). An interesting day today. They had the Pickle Festival in the Lower East Side, which was worth a look at least, though I'm not a huge fan of pickles. The Pickled Cucumber samplers were actually okay (I hadn't tasted pickle since... not sure. Was recently chatting with longdeadturkey, who apparently saw people handing out promos for an indy movie at Union Square named... Darkon. If you check out their website, you see that they're brave enough to use the award laurels around really lame awards like "Official Selection." Anyway, definitely watch the trailer.
