Stress + Busy Summer = ?

I just realized that I haven't had a free weekend in about a month until now. I've been very busy with trips and family events lately. Summary below:

Las Vegas (a weekend back in June)

One weekend in June I went to Vegas. It was my second time there. Last time I lost $35 on slots. This time I tried my hand at the table games (with some advice from sensei256 who was there with me) and did better. I discovered that Blackjack makes it easy to lose money quickly, but it takes longer with Craps. Fortunately I had some luck after my bad luck and ended up breaking even to the tune of $120 or so. I made some other guy $300 with a few lucky throws and he tipped me $25. Well OK - I'll take an 8% tip anyday!

Strangest thing I saw: Two Lions in the Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand were being very frisky with each other and proceeded to fornicate on some plate glass about 5 feet above our heads. They were both male lions though. Something tells me they need to get some Lionesses in there and have a party because they seem to have way too much time on their hands....

Strangest thing I did: I was 'persuaded' to try the "water-massage" machine where you lay down between two layers of vinyl/plastic/some sort of material and jets of water move the material to massage you. Unfortunately, it felt like I was being molested by water.

St. Louis (the weekend after the previous one)

I hate to say it but St. Louis is kind of an uneventful place. I mean, it's nice and all, but what can I say about it? We went to a St. Louis Cardinals game (vs. the Phillies), they won, and the most interesting thing was that I won two tickets to a Cardinals vs. Astros game in September. Not bad - I'm feeling more lucky lately after all this good fortune!

Nebraska (last weekend)

I went to Nebraska last weekend with kiara2425 for a July-4th Celebration with her family and friends (a few days early because of the Wednesday holiday). We 'smuggled' fireworks into Nebraska from Missouri... apparently many types of projectile fireworks are illegal in Nebraska (someone set a cornfield on fire with a bottle rocket once?) and so the police will ticket you and confiscate the fireworks if found. Little did I know that Missouri is the wild west of fireworks. We set them all off without any troubles though.

Now my birthday is in two days. It would be a better Summer if it wasn't for my preoccupation with the future. But I'm trying to set that aside for a little while and un-stress myself.
