Tokyo

Hi everyone! I'm in Tokyo right now having some fun. we got here on Monday morning around 6:30am after wandering around Atami at 3:30 for a good hour until the first train to Tokyo arrived. It was a very long day. We got off at Ginza which is a very expensive district with all of the high quality things and what not and wandered around, but since we got there so early, all of the stores were closed. Nothing opened until 11am. It was awful! So...we went to the Tsukiji Fish Market which is huge, but we definitely got in the way of everyone's business so we left as quickly as possible. after that, we went to Starbucks because we couldn't find anywhere else to get breakfast and decided to go try to find somewhere to go. but still..nothing was open. When 11am finally rolled around, we went to the Sony building and checked out the showrooms and then went to one of the largest toy stores in Japan...i guess. It was pretty big...5 floors of toys, but that's because there are so many buildings around the area and not enough space so most of the stores have like a billion floors. Ok...well maybe only 10-12 but i don't really know. I know some of them have like 40... And after getting lost in the Ginza area we went and found our hotel in Jimbocho. That was fun. The hotel was just a place to sleep so it wasn't that great.

Yesterday we wandered around Tokyo again, leaving our things at Shinjuku station. There we met a Wittenberg Graduate named Yukiko who took us to Yokohama's Chinatown and to Roppongi to see Tokyo Tower, but Tokyo Tower wasn't there...but we could see it. I still want to go up and look down at Tokyo from there though. Chinatown was ok. It was about 10x bigger than Kobe's and we kinda got lost there. Hehehe...but the food was alright. Nothing special, but i guess that's because we weren't looking for anything expensive. Then we went and checked in to our other hotel and got lost trying to find it. It's in a very shady part of Tokyo, not lively like everywhere else, but it's really nice. There's a pool table, and our room has 6 beds, a tv, shower, bathroom...and is so much better than what we had at the other place. Plus...there are British guys here that are really cute.

Today, i was supposed to go to Disney Sea...but i woke up and was incredibly tired because i had been coughing for about 2 hours of the night. It sucked and Sarah kinda snapped at me for coughing most of the night, but i can't help it. I've had this damn sore throat for the since Saturday morning. So whatever... Anyway, so Sarah and Adam left to meet up with Adam's friend Matt and i stayed behind with David and Peter. So instead, we wandered around Ueno ending up in Ueno Park and riding a rowboat with high schoolers. It was fun. And then we met Peter's friend Saiyako and went to Shinjuku Park to see the Sakura blossoms that had bloomed. It was pretty, but would have looked prettier if they had all blossomed. Then we went to this Ramen Place and had amazing Soy Sauce BBQ Pork ramen. It was amazing...10x better than what we would eat in Hirakata. Tomorrow we're wandering around Tokyo and then off to Hakone for some relaxation. Anyway, i'm going to get off now since this computer is for anyone in the hotel. Later!
