So this weekend was interesting. On Saturday, i went to Kyoto with Max, Zach and Brian to Tenmangu Shrine which is a Shinto shrine for Studying. There was not only the flea market, which we were going to, but the Plum Blossom festival. It was INSANE! People were everywhere! The place was completely packed. We could barely walk anywhere. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards we went to Sanjo and met up with David, Torean, Yusuke, and Yuji for dinner at Shakey's Pizza...not so good. Then we went wandering around Sanjo because it's a big shopping area, with really random shops. And Brian bought his "no Fucking" shirt. After wandering around the shops, we went to Starbucks and got a coffee before heading home.
Sunday was a relaxing day. I lounged around my room the whole day, not really doing homework or studying, even though i had a test the next day. (oops) Around 5 pm, Mao came home and we (me, mao, and toki) went out to dinner and to the karaoke bar with her friend Ryuu-chan. He's really cool. The restaurant we went to is called Sato and it was DELICIOUS! I got a tempura donburi and a lime sour (i think). The donburi was amazing but the lime sour...not so much. Then we went to the Karaoke place and had a blast. I sang english songs and japanese...kinda... Also the drinks were 10x better than what i had at the other karaoke place. don't know what i had though. one of them was a grapefruit thing.
On Monday, another group of mao's friends came over and we went to dinner at an Okinawan restaurant and i ate really weird things. First of all, i had a plum chuuhai sour drink which was really good. Then Mao ordered for the table. Well...i was definitely not expecting to eat shaved pig ears with onions and pig's feet. They really weren't that bad, not going to lie. I also had something that tasted like spam and some vegetable that was green on the outside and was a bit spikey. it was the most random tasting thing i have ever tried. The best part though was the sashimi that Mao ordered for Toki and me. Sashimi is raw fish, if u didn't know already, and there was salmon, tuna, and octopus. Toki liked the tuna and salmon and well i ate all of the octopus.
Yesterday, Brian came over for dinner and my host family loved him. We played one of Toki's games and it was really fun, except that Toki memorized all of the cards...but Brian beat him sometimes and well i just sucked. Then we played something similar to go fish.
Well that's all. I finished making rooming arrangements for the Tokyo trip and Qiang is in charge of getting us there. There are 6 of us going now. There's Me, Sarah, Qiang, David, Adam (sarah's friend), and Peter (david's friend). It should really be interesting with only 2 girls and well 4 guys. Oh well. Later!
