The week in review

Jun 06, 2008 23:03

Overall, it was a pretty good week.

As for work I got quite a bit done. I was able to set some of the nagging things aside and actually get some major progress on rolling out our Puppet software with some new recipes. Being able to touch a single file and have it propagated to all 100 systems is a wonderful thing. I am on-call since colleague is out of town, but I expect things will be quiet.

Met a really cool guy last Thursday night and curious to see where this goes. I met him through a friend of a friend and I think the feeling is mutual that we will be seeing each other soon. We just went out to Jason's Deli for dinner. That same day before the date someone commented on how nice I looked. I think it was just because I was more relaxed this week then I've been in months.

The heat is on, big time. Greg Fishel predicted a high of 100°F Saturday and 102°F Sunday. I had a peak heat index of 108°F here at home today. Not pretty. If we do hit 100°F Saturday at RDU, it will be the earliest time in the year that we've hit 100°F since the 1940's.

Going to do some good mountain biking tomorrow morning with Dana. Needless to say, we are heading out early like 0800 before the heat hits us. Dana has never been to Little River and it will be a good workout. Will try to snap some pics while I'm out there tomorrow. Garmin replace my GPS and it will be coming along for the ride too to record my track.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
