I'm still exhausted.

Tuesday night I was in bed reading & trying to wind down from work, and the phone rang (it was about 10:30). No one ever calls me that late, but I picked up 'cause I thought it might be Michelle & I wanted to talk with her, so I answered. It turned out to be this guy who's the cousin of one of my kids, and the kid has been going on for months about how we should date. So we started talking and we had a lot in common and he's pretty smart, so we kept talking, and long story short, we talked 'til almost 3:00 am. And we left it that he wanted to meet up Saturday night & I'd call him back to schedule. But like..okay, he's 26, still finishing school (not all that shameful), has no job, no car at the moment, lives with his mother. Yeah. There is no way I'm going out with this guy, smart and cool or no. Besides which, he apparently called my student after & talked with him about it, and that's not cool, because the kid brought it up in class yesterday and there's no way that's all right with me. So I need to call this guy back and tell him that. Even worse, though, having had an hour of sleep Sun. night, and about 4 Monday night, this killed me for yesterday. I felt like a zombie. Still do, 'cause after all that, even 6 1/2 hours didn't catch me quite up.

I finally got my car fixed yesterday. It turned out that the people who sold it to me did so with a plugged tire and the plug came loose/out. So I had to get a new tire. This would make me way more mad than it does, but I'm seeing some pretty sweet money coming in from the restaurant gig, so it's all good. I was on call last night & did a 6:15-10:00 shift and made $73 in tips.

On the way home this car was following me kind of weird in the dark, & I started to get paraniod and sped up. So of course it was a cop and I got pulled over. He was like: "Do you know why I pulled you over?" and like an idiot I said, "'Cause I was speeding?" I need to learn not to answer this question like that. It turned out that he had seen me weaving onto or apparently over the yellow line several times. He asked, "Ma'am have you been drinking?" about eight times. I kept saying, "No, I'm just really tired! I'm coming home from work; they don't let me drink at work anyway! I just want to go home and go to bed!" He let me off with a warning, which was nice, but still annoying and time consuming.

I'm going to call in sick tomorrow. There's no way. Besides, go 4-day weekend! On that note, time to make sub plans.
