Sounds like you had quite an interesting experiance! Would you say you were connected with everything (even if you didn't feel a part of it...), or unconnected with your surroundings? It almost sounds as if you were unconnected, but you could still be connected and just not be participating. I find that it is very interesting just to watch the way people act and react, if I am not fitting in to what is going on, rather then to act bored and draw attention to myself.

What you wrote about your fortune cookie makes me smile. The last time I got a fortune cookie, I didn't show it to anyone either. I do enjoy when the fortune sometimes relates to a current situation; that amuses me. You did give Heather and her family a gift that night; your presence and politeness was just what everyone had wanted. In their minds, everything was perfect and everyone was happy. Congratulations on that, Jules. =).
