note on the wii

Reminder: Must do arm stretches before playing the Wii.
Otherwise, my arm and wrist will feel sore and stretched. And that's very bad. :P
But I finally have it set up here in Japan, and I tried it out this evening for about a half an hour. Yes, I'm a wimp, but I'll build up my stamina gradually.
I've been hard at work today sorting through my Japan photos, creating slideshows, watching Firefly, and getting errands done. Not in that order, o'course. I took the time off for a doctor's appointment this morning in Morioka, and used the whole day to give myself a break from the monotony of the office. After the hospital, I went to see Singin' in the Rain at the local theatre (they do a Classic Cinema movie every Friday.) It was wonderful to see it on the big screen - and there were more people than I thought there would be.
And I've made a new friend! The local dry cleaning lady is quite talkative, and I always end up chatting with her until the next customer comes in. I finally took some clothes to get dry cleaned for the first time last week, and met her. I wish I had met her sooner, she's very nice. :) But it makes me feel better to know her now. She's the fourth friend I've made here (besides the other AETs.) When I pick up my wool blanket next week, I think I will bring her cookies or a small gift. Oh yes, I took the blanket to her to get cleaned - she said as long as it was cleaned regularly, the bugs should stay away. So, we shall see! But I feel better now that I know the blanket will be bug-free when it returns. And heck, maybe a few patches will give it 'character.' ;)
Well, off to get a hot shower and then to bed. My cold, cold bed. The downside to not having that big wool blanket for a week is that, even with the two lighter blankets added on to replace it, the bed is colder now.
