Here's to Cherri!
Sometimes I feel like a huge jerk when I try to explain my feelings to other people. Maybe I get too emotional and maybe I don’t articulate well enough. I feel even worse when I make my sister cry especially since I have always tried my best to make her smile. I know that at the end of the day she is one of my biggest (if not my biggest) supporters. So when I feel slighted or hurt, I’m hesitant to tell her because I know how much she supports me. (And in my venting a frustration about something she has done, I feel like I’m being cruel.) I try not to let things that I think were slights bother me, because I know she would never willingly set out to hurt me. That being said, I’m very glad she understands that I get frustrated and need to vent. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing little sister.
She’s not just supportive in my endeavors as a teacher but as a writer and as a dragon slayer. She puts up with a lot. I am eternally thankful for such a cool arch nemesis.
Background: Cherri and I were talking and she was asking about her nemesis and how she didn’t have an arch nemesis. So I told her that we were arch nemesises. She wanted to know the reasoning. So I told her that every hero has enemies. Some that fight with their brawn and the arch nemesis that fights with their brain. So, I told Cherri that I was her arch nemesis fighting her with my brain! And she looks at me and I told her I defeated all of her other enemies. And she looks at me and asks, “Why?” so I go, “because you’d never suspect me to defeat them FOR YOU.” And she looks at me so I say, “I defeated them all so you think we’re allies, but really, I’m your arch nemesis.” She looked so shocked and she goes, “but Aniki, you’re not a super villain.” I agreed and said, “You’re the super villain, not me.” We got a really good laugh out of it. So it’s been decided she’s a super villain and we are arch nemesises.
And we mean it in a totally loving sisterly way that villains and heroes can shut up and deal with.
