Wow...how long has it been since I've written in this. I miss writing you know. I really do, but when life decides to take you along in a hurricane of events its hard to find time for the things you really love.
It seems to me that the older you get the more interesting life becomes...the more complicated...the harder, and yet the better all at the same time.
I think we spend so much of our younger years yearning to be free. If only we knew that those are our "free" years. No bills to pay, no real responsibilitys. Just school, and chores, and friends. All the worries I had back then, how trivial they seem now, but they weren't at the time. I don't envy high school kids, and yet...as contradicting as it is, I do.
I wish that I could go back to myself in high school and slap some sense into me. I wish that I could say to 15 year old me:
"Stay away from boys, when your 22 you will find someone wonderful and you will one day marry him, nothing up until that point will matter so just stay away from them."
"Keep Jason as a best friend, never hurt him, never get involved with him, it won't be worth it in the end because he was always meant just to be a friend, but if you lose him you will regret it, so never let it get that far."
"Save money, don't develope a spending habit, it will greatly hinder you later."
"Food is not your friend, it never will be, avoid it at all cost."
"You may not drink, you may not smoke, you may not do drugs, but food is your drug, and trust me it doesn't make you happy."
Lalala...the things I would tell 16 year old me...
How would that change 22 year old me...I take it back. I would only tell 16 year old me 1 thing "You will make it through, you will become a stronger person because of everything you will go through, and you will like who you are when your older. Never lose sight of that."
So anyways, its boxing day...New years is coming, and like any other year I have resolutions. But kind of like when you tell someone your wish it won't come true, I am not going to post my resolution. Instead, I will just say, I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. Happy New Year!
