Friday night was the Jazz Invitational.
I wasn't invited but I went anyway.
I paid for a ticket.
I sat in the audience, a regular audience member.
I laughed I clapped I cried inside.
I went to the see-and-be-seen to see
Maybe I was seen
But not a jewel in the world could have made me care.

Christmas cheer is awfully scarce on the home front. We have a guest staying at our house, my dad's old chum, so my parents and him have been spending the morning chatting away about classmates they've haven't seen since God knows when.
