An odd realization about Ziva
You know, I had an odd realization tonight.
It's no secret that I am highly critical of Ziva. I find she borders on Mary-Sue on occasion on the show and I find her completely self-absorbed and oblivious re: the impact her actions have on others - primarily because of the writers' tendencies in seasons 6 and 7 to make Ziva into Mary Sue. But she's getting back to a Ziva I can like.
I was watching an older NCIS episode and Ziva was being a total self-absorbed, pompous bitch. Seriously, she was just being really nasty and sneering towards everyone but Gibbs. Genuinely dislikable woman. Frankly, it was very Betty Draper.
Then I watched an episode from this season and there was the Ziva I liked: not Mary-Sue, not nasty, just a flawed but good person.
