Dr. House deals with religious issues ... and Dr. Wilson's new girlfriend.
I thought that this was a pretty good episode. I think I was more interested in seeing what was going to transpire between House and Amber than in following the patient's progress.
It would appear that Amber is going out with Wilson because she actually likes him, not because of anything having to do with House. I can't imagine House would've granted the relationship his blessing if he had smelled anything fishy. It was kind of sweet, in a twisted way, how House poked and prodded the relationship to see what it was really made of. I thought it was very true to Amber that, after she had turned down House's fellowship-for-dumping-Wilson offer, she still had to at least take a crack at solving the case. Competitive girl, that Amber.
If a patient expresses deep religious beliefs, I can't help but assume that there will be a scene later on in which those beliefs cause the patient (or the person empowered to act for the patient) to turn down desperately needed medical intervention. And, sure enough, that's what we eventually got. But it worked for me because her new husband used their faith to advance an argument FOR having the surgery that would help save her life. And it provided the opportunity for Chase to save the day with his clever idea to "speed up" time.
I liked Dr. Taub's remark about how it wasn't possible to use "10ccs of atheism" on the patient. And House's remark to Wilson about his new relationship, "Oh my God ... you're sleeping with me!" was funny and exceedingly accurate.
