Dr. Cameron drives this week's episode of House.
Between Cameron's anger at Dr. Foreman over the article and her concern about the ethical considerations of the liver transplant, she was the axis around which everything turned.
The twist ending was great. Cameron had worked herself into a tizzy because the patient needing the new liver was secretly planning to dump her partner after her partner donated a portion of her own liver. Then it turned out that the partner was fully aware of what was going on and intended to use the donation to guilt her into remaining with her.
It was entertaining to watch Cameron complain about Foreman's actions to practically anyone she could lay her hands on and find that no one had any sympathy for her. I wonder if she is going to exact some kind of revenge on Foreman.
The best exchange of the episode was when Cameron said, "We've got rectal bleeding!" and House replies, "What, all of you?" I also liked it when House told Cameron that he would rather she be mad at him instead of Foreman because "At least I know you're not going to pop a cap in my ass." And the note of concern in House's voice when he observed that the patient and her partner were awake in the same room -- with CAMERON -- was pretty comical.
I was certainly surprised that House busted out the Mandarin! It turned what had been a pretty meek B-story into a worthwhile diversion. I'm just glad that the B-story didn't provide the "Aha!" moment enabling House and the gang to solve the A-story. The show does that plenty often.
