- Morning, 1247 Williams Rd and anyone who wanders by the front door -
[Riza was still feeling painfully guilty about the things she'd done while being droned, and when she wasn't feeling guilty for attacking every person she came across she was trying to shove the memory of being murdered--and waking up fine the next day as if nothing had

Ah.. Good afternoon.

[Hayate wants to say hello, too, and barks. He's run off after enough strangers today to catch on that he should cut that out, but not quiet enough to stop his excitement. He also continues to wiggle excitedly, a ball of excited fluff.]
Black Hayate says hello as well.

[ She smiles a little though - a bit edged, but that's just her natural way of smiling, really. ]
I can't say I have seen a lot of us here with pets.

Hayate lives with me at home. He appeared on our doorstep this morning...
[And dramatically, dramatically improved her day.]

Ah, so they give out even pets from back home here? I didn't know that much yet.

I suppose so.
It is nice to have him here, though. I'm used to living alone, but at least I had Black Hayate to keep me company.

But.. that's at least a sentiment Eva can share. Having something familiar from home around really helps to keep you stable here, and while she completely detests Rudolf, being on her guard around him keeps her from going crazy often enough. ]
... That's right. [ And maybe this time it's actually genuinely warm. ] I'm glad you have found such a thing, Riza.

I am as well.
[She could make a really bad joke about how Hayate is the only man who would ever love her, but that would be too self-deprecating a joke to make in public. Instead, she will go with the far more socially acceptable:]
How are you doing today?
Reply
[ Which is a very diplomatical answer, but she does really look better than last time. ]
At least we don't have to deal with the milk situation by now, right..?
Reply
[Riza nods, willing the tension out of her back. The milk event had been her first experience with death not being permanent and it remained a lot for her to process.]
Thankfully. Things could have gone far worse than they did, I believe..
Reply
[ The whole population control thing was far more brutal, after all. ]
Reply
[There's a pause, as she thinks the thought to it's logical conclusion.]
They've done worse than with the milk and that strange truth gas?
Reply
[ It's better for Riza to know about it too, either way. ]
Most people suddenly got a letter one day that threatened their loved ones unless they would kill another one of Mayfield's residents they got assigned. And.. in the end, it was just a whole chain of people here killing each other.

When did this happen?
[Oh Eva. Riza doesn't know much about Mayfield yet.]
And..did they threaten loved ones in town, or just make broad threats to anyone?
Reply
And they threatened both loved ones inside and outside the town.. They threatened my husband, even though he wasn't in Mayfield yet back then.
Reply
That's horrible. And...it isn't easy to ignore their threats, even if we know they aren't true.
[Personal experience in this department, though the experience is from home and not from here.]
