[Olivier is strutting around the park, exploring it if one asks, the sword on her hip looking ridiculous on top of the dress she wears, but she doesn't care. It is her sword, and she is enjoying having it, even if she doesn't know how it got to her. She seems a familiar profile as she follows the path, and as she gets closer, she noticed Hawkeye has a dog.]

[Hawkeye stoops down and takes the ball from Hayate, scratching him behind the ears. Hayate nuzzled his face into her neck, and Hawkeye glanced up at Armstrong with a tired smile.]

No, ma'am. You've never met him?

This is Black Hayate. Hayate, say hello to General Armstrong.

[Black Hayate hops up and prances over to Armstrong, yipping politely at her and wagging his tail eagerly.]

[Olivier stares down at the dog for a moment, and then gives into the ball of fluff by extending her hand, letting him have a good smell before petting him awkwardly on the head.]

I wouldn't have guessed you preferred dogs.

[She really hopes that didn't come across sarcastic, because it wasn't meant to.]

[Hayate yips excitedly and presses his forehead into Armstrong's open palm. All of the pets, please.

Hawkeye laughs quietly.]

I hadn't, either. Master Sergeant Fuery had found him on the street, and nobody could else take him in.

[Hayate turned and pranced back to Riza's side, looking up at her expectantly; Riza stooped and scratched him behind his ears with a small smile.]

I couldn't ask for a better companion, though. I'm glad I took him in when I had the chance. Right, Hayate? [Yip!]

[Olivier smile for a moment at the fond look Riza gives Hayate, but quickly erases the smile from her face.]

Is there some kind of order to what we get from home, or is it random?

[She's trying to think of what she'll get next, and what she'll have to endure to get it...]

[Hayate rolls onto the grass, wagging his tail and exposing his tummy for pets; Riza obliges without taking her gaze off of Olivier.]

Well, I'm glad I got my sword first, although, I wouldn't have minded a tank. I don't like the look of the cars here.

I received my pistol from home. As happy as I am to have Hayate here...I am glad that came first.

[As if insulted that Hawkeye wanted her weapon first, Hayate whined and butted his head against Hawkeye's hand indignantly.]

[Talk about weapons makes her think of the conversation with Riza in the flower shop.]

[She knows how these things can regenerate, she'd heard about their Philosopher's Stone cores from Fullmetal, then again from Alex and Izumi. Not that Lust wouldn't respawn overnight, but her regenerating on the spot would make life difficult to say the least.]

It may be in our best interests to find out, maybe Fullmetal can tell us.

I would assume that Edward doesn't go about testing whether or not Lust can spontaneously regenerate. Just because life is restored after a day does not mean that it would be in his best interest to test it out.

[Olivier notices a strange look on Hawkeye's face just before Hayate bumps heads with her. She files away the subject for further scrutiny later. Obviously, she'll have to ask Edward why the mention of him makes Riza uncomfortable.]

That's not what I meant, Hawkeye. [See this glower, it is for you.] I thought he might be able to learn if she got her regenerative abilities back through observation, not tests.

[She is tempted to tell Riza that maybe they should get up early one morning and go bomb the house, that would be a good test, but holds back.]

Well, first of all, he can see if she has acquired something else from home. That would quite easily prove she hasn't gotten the stone. Secondly, if she did get her regenerative abilities, I see no reason why she would hesitate to cause whatever mayhem she wishes. And, being forced to to live with her, he probably has a better read on her than the two of us. Her emotions might give away that she has her stone.

Yes. Let's just encourage Edward to observe a violently dangerous homunculus on his own and risk her attacking him.

We are supposed to be protecting children, General, not asking them to put themselves in the line of fire.
