Tired, Worried, Scared
Zephyr, the kitty featured in this icon, is quite sick. It happened suddenly. One day she was fine, the next she is almost dead. Turns out she has diabetes and her kidneys are failing. She also has some sort of infection, as indicated by a high white blood cell count. She's been on fluids, antibiotics, and insulin for 2 full days now. I'm lucky to be able to keep her at home in the evenings & she is spending her days at the vet. I gave her an insulin shot tonight. It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be.
I keep thinking she's going to be okay, but then I can't imagine how she's going to get through this. She won't eat on her own, so I'm "force" feeding her. She isn't moving around much. She looks and sounds miserable. I found her hiding in the bathtub a little while ago. Cats hide when they are going to die.
This is breaking my heart.
