For a while, there were stitches:

And then they came out (WHOAJESUS):
Only not really because the tissue grew up around that membrane you see, so he had to go back and have those surgically pulled the following day:
And in the interim, sadcat was double-coned so he'd leave them be (the cone says "Please Return to Cozy Cat," but you can be forgiven for thinking it says "Please shoot me now" or "Please let this be over with."):
And then the second set of stitches was removed, but sadcat had suffered some neurological damage from repeated eye-trauma and the eyelids did not retract more than halfway. Yea, even until now they still obscure his vision...but they're receeding slowly and he's almost normal looking.
Which is more than I can say for this fat bastard:
That is a terribly unfortunate photo of asthmacat, and I am not at all sorry.
